Tracy Nichols

1943-1972

Tracy was born Nov 7, 1943. She died in April of 1972, in an automobile accident.

Her time at the Dad's Club was one of great involvement -- she always appreciated the club and the time she spent on the swim team. Later, she went to college at U of Miami (Fla.).

Tracy then went to Paris for a couple of years, where she was enrolled at the Sorbonne. Afterwards, she came home and attended the U. of Texas at Austin. At that time, she sewed a very large tepee, in which she lived while staying on her mother's property in Wimberley.

While in school, she made stainless steel jewelry. Tracy had a way with animals, having had a horse as a youngster, along with dogs (which she expertly trained). At her apartment in Austin, she had an ocelot.

Tracy was very driven to be independent and educated. She was smarter than her three brothers, intelligent in a very deep way. She understood things that we couldn't begin to see.

Tracy was fluent in French and knew Spanish. She was also an ardent feminist, leaving behind many books by early feminist authors.

She was survived by her mother, Isabelle Nichols and her three brothers (T of Coeur d'Alene, ID, Chris of Wimberley, TX, and Greg of Lawrence, KS).

Homage by Greg Nichols, May 2014.
