Kirstin was a longtime, outstanding swimmer at the Dad’s Club. She still holds 12 team records in the 8 & Under and 9-10 age groups (as of March 2014).

Kirstin went to Robert E Lee High School, Houston Texas, class of 1986. She was editor of Saber Yearbook.

A Kirstin Torgerson Endowed Presidential Scholarship was established by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System on April 9, 1992, for the benefit of the College of Liberal Arts. Gift funds were provided by Mr. James R. Street of Houston, Texas and Mrs. Judith T. Street (mother) of Houston, Texas.
